I've just completed my first Joomla component but and it installs successfully, but when I check for it on the list of installed modules and in the Joomla installation database, it's not there. What could be the problem, and how can I solve it?

LOL your not suppose to look in the installed modules. Its under the components tab. Its right of [Content] Tab. And Left of [Modules] Tab hope that helped.

components and modules are two separate entities........

That drove me nuts for about an hour when I installed an add-on component and kept looking under modules!
